Chiles
oldest wine region, the Maipo Valley spans from the majestic
Andes Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The valleys low
annual rainfall, high temperatures and stony ground may sound
inhospitable, but these conditions make the region perfect
for growing so-called noble wine grapes. As a
result, some of Chiles finest Cabernet Sauvignon is
produced in the Maipo Valley. And because of its dramatic
variations in elevation, the valley is known for producing
wines with unique characteristics and subtle variations. |
