MAULE VALLEY

This expansive valley is Chile’s largest wine producing region, spanning the gap between the Andes and coastal mountain ranges. The Maule Valley’s hot days, cold nights and heavy winter rains limit the quantity of wine grapes produced – a phenomenon that actually enhances their quality. Fruity, intense wines are the result. The Maule Valley is home to some of Chile’s best red wines, like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. A few white wines also flourish here, including Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
