This
expansive valley is Chiles largest wine producing region,
spanning the gap between the Andes and coastal mountain ranges.
The Maule Valleys hot days, cold nights and heavy winter
rains limit the quantity of wine grapes produced
a phenomenon that actually enhances their quality.
Fruity, intense wines are the result. The Maule Valley is
home to some of Chiles best red wines, like Cabernet
Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. A few white wines also flourish
here, including Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. |
