Simple Touches

 
 
  • Toss blueberries or chopped apples in pancake or waffle mix.
  • Put your choice of stone fruit on BBQ grill flesh side down---great with grilled meat and seafood.
  • Add pears and goat cheese to mixed green salads.
  • Wrap prosciutto around apples, peaches or pears---serve as an appetizer.
  • How about a quesadilla with caramelized onions and pears, peaches, or nectarines and brie?
  • Sweeten blueberries, blackberries, raspberries or strawberries with a little sugar and orange juice. Cook down and use as a sauce over ice cream or pound cake. Another addition could be to slice the pound cake lengthwise into 3 pieces. Layer with the ice cream of you choice. Use berry sauce to drizzle over the top.
  • Have a "Smoothie Bar" Have available smoothie ingredients; fruit, juice, yogurt, ice soy powder, etc and let people make their own smoothie.
  • Fill waffle cone with vanilla yogurt top with kiwis sprinkled with lemon juice.
  • Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or strawberries sweetened to taste. Serve with crème fraiche and scones.
  • Dip strawberries in sour crème and brown sugar.
  • Sliced apples, raisin and peanut butter sandwich.
  • Add fresh mint leaves to a mixed fruit salad
  • Add diced clementines (peel too) to cranberries when cooking.
